I kinda like the Doc without lines in it. Of course, you could change the Doc backround to have purple translucent polka dots if you wanted to, but its a nice touch.

If those options in the Photography pane mean full scanner support, I will be one happy person!

Also, anyone notice in the 'Disks' pane that they have options for Data DVDs? That's new as well.

And in the Video pane, they have options for VideoCDs, too?

More Jag pictures, coming your way! images/icons/grin.gif

blank>Remember this--mini windows!
blank>Jaguar with AA Text Off
blank>IE With Anti-Aliased Text
blank>New Date & Time Map

And just to add one more thing...supposedly the Spinning Rainbow (Beachball, Spinning Ball of Death, etc.) has been replaced by a much more 'Aqua'-type cursor. And even then it rarely comes on.

And in iChat, you CAN turn off the pictures and the bubbles. images/icons/grin.gif

About these mini-windows, does that mean we can minimize windows to the desktop instead of the dock?

I don't understand.

I think what happens is that you minimize a window, and it goes to the Dock. You can then drag the "mini-window" out of the Dock, and put it wherever you want. Right-clicking the little window gives you a couple of options--close, minimize, etc.

Those icons on minimized windows are "badges" and are not specific to IE. ANY window you minimize will have it's icon on there so you know what app the window belongs to.

hmm...look at this photo. The "Edit" button in the middle of the bottom of the screen is a different shape...more like the Classic OS shape, rather than the OS X oval.

I think that its similar to iPhoto's buttons--Organize, Edit, etc. These buttons are actually the regular OS X shape, but have been made transparent. Apple then puts custom images on the transparent buttons.

If you play around with Interface Builder, you'll be able to see this.

Verrrrrrrrry interesting... Zachs, do you have the necessary graphics card for Quartz Extreme? Spring-loaded folders doesn't seem as zippy as the OS 9 version, but still is better than nothing.

No, unfortunately I don't have the required graphics card for QE (400mhz PB G4). images/icons/frown.gif

To tell the truth, I don't actually have Jaguar...I've just compiled a bunch of pics from a lot of sites on the internet. And that one movie, which is the only one I've seen.

But I do know that that video is of a copy of Jaguar running without QE enabled. And look how fast it is. Jaguar w/o QE enabled is supposed to be about 90% of OS 9 speed. Imagine the speed WITH QE enabled!
