This is great news. Looks exact promising like the last version and I can see the section for 'iTunes Music Is Sneakily More Cloud-Based' but when I read it there was nothing new in getting or playing your music file via cloud usage. Apple is the starter and has been give nthe credit to promote and market the first iCloud based service for music and video files. This is yet another in marketing but I dont see any new thing such as more clous-based. Apple isn't necessarily a front runner when it comes to cloud computing, but they certainly deserve kudos for their highly effective marketing! I'm downloading from the Apple Support Download page.

Not being a user of iCloud (2 A/cs, 5GB & 25GB storage), I need certain answers as I sync my iPhone & iPad with my Mac Pro, not iCloud.

Does anyone know if iPhone/iPad sync is still available on iT11? Will I still be able to download apps and install/uninstall via my Mac?

I provide a help-desk facility for my extended family and support loads of OSX & iOS devices, but after 20+ years of using Macs and other Apple devices, a new uncertainty is beginning to manifest itself. It's like suddenly developing erectile dysfunction...

Yes, and yes. The interface is different, but those functions are still there.

The only thing that seems to be missing is the iTunes DJ. I actually liked that feature and I am sad to see it go.

They got rid of cover flow. That was my favorite way to use iTunes. HeartBreak....

is it just me or is there no way to turn off app syncing? I did have it so that I just managed apps on device but it doesn't seem to allow that any more.

That's about the only "playlist" I ever use, as I can easily throw songs into the mix. Is there something else offering similar functionality? I'm sure I'll get used to it being missing, somehow, but that does kinda stink.

This is as bad as iTunes on the iPad. No list view for albums? Instead of ONE menu on the sidebar, now you have to make several clicks to see the same info.

How to go back to iTunes 10?

"Up Next" replaces DJ. Pick the playlist that your old DJ was based on and then you can add/remove songs to "Up Next".

My biggest complaint with Up Next is that it's confined to a popup and can't be viewed in the main window.

The DJ functionality is now built-in to iTunes at the base level. In the main player window (where the current playing track info is display, top center) there is a playlist-type icon on the right side which you can click on to see what is coming up next and modify the play order, like iTunes DJ.
