Re: "I’ve got to tell you the truth, I’ve hooked up with something else, last week."
I suppose a micro usb port is more amenable to that kind of thing than the lightning port, although the lightning port isn't as fussy if you're fumbling around in the dark.
You know, almost everybody uses a micro usb port so you'll never know whose cheap connector it was hooked up to in the past. You might also want to check for signs of SD card use. The scar is pretty visible.
I hope you're using an antivirus.

Thanks for the free trial. Now I know not to pay extra for nonsense like this.

Dear PFXFV,
I am of course disappointed. For a moment I almost cared what you think. But you're right, it's probably for the best if we go our separate ways. Thanks for being honest.

Although, to be fair, bananas are also very good for you. Potassium and all that.

I know a few pomegranates that would disagree with that statement. ;-)

I've been a mac user for 20 years, an iPhone user for four and an iPad user for 18 months, so not exactly an anti-Apple person. But yes, you could do more with a PC 20 years ago than you could with a Mac. PCs had a lot more software (the overall quality of which was dubious, but there were some that were highly specialized and very useful), and the ISA card selection was far greater than NuBus cards. Today, USB (which was given a head start by Apple with the iMac) has leveled the playing field for expansion. I'd be willing to guess that there's still more software for PCs, but we're a lot closer to parity.
The same is true for Android vs. iOS devices, but flipped in a weird way. There is more software available for iOS devices, but the stuff that is out there and unique to the Android platform tends to customize and address shortcomings with the OS, whereas developers can't do certain things needed to address shortcomings in iOS.
Ultimately, I'll stick with iOS/Mac OS X and wait for Apple to address any deficiencies I see with either platform because I spend less time managing my devices, yet still get a lot of value out of them. YMMV

Might want to check out some previous pieces. While this one wasn't up to Macalope's normal standard, he/she has had some incredibly brutal fact-based missives. And MW isn't all Macalope. There's more. Click around a bit.

Nah, cut him loose. Some folks are prone to making snap judgements based upon single data points, and then extrapolating from it to explain the universe.

Well, I think it's pretty obvious that Ben is more pathetic since he posted his dear iPhone letter on the web instead of telling Siri to her FaceTime.
I doesn't get much cheaper than that.
At the very least he could have used a more private venue, such as Facebook or Twitter.
