My iMovie file of old home movies shows that it is one hour and 32 minutes long, with a file size of 31 GB. How do I get that big file onto a DVD which holds just 4.7GB? There's got to be a way to put a 90-minute movie on the DVD. Does iDVD compress the file? Help!

Yes, iDVD will "compress" the video file. It will actually "converts" the video to the format that DVD players use, which is a compressed format if I recall correctly (a version of MPEG, I believe).

Now, whether or not your iMovie file will fit on a DVD can depend on other factors as well. You may just have to try it to see if it will work.
