So now the iOS versions are functional for content creation that can be shared. How about Bento? Did they fix that too, or is it still a data production dead-end?

Bento is not an Apple product. It is a FileMaker Pro product. FileMaker use to be an Apple product but hasn't been for a long time.

This isn't going to bode well for all the naysayers who espouse you can't do any "real work" on an iPad.

Actually FileMaker is still a subsidiary of Apple so technically is an Apple product. :-)

I find nothing wrong with Bento. I use it extensively so please explain by what you mean? Bearing in mind Bento isn't supposed to be a cheap FileMaker Pro.

I do "real work" all the time on my iPad. I used it at work for two weeks straight while waiting for a replacement computer from my cheap boss.

I hope your boss doesn't read these posts or you may have to wait an additional two weeks for your next paycheck, lol.
Seriously though, this speaks volumes to the quality and maturity of the apps for iPad. True, it's not intended as a desktop computer replacement, but it can come closer than anything but the surface tablet.
