I will have to try it again when I get back from my trip, because it wasn't working for me. I had updated to itunes 11 and the new remote app on the phone, connected to a home share, and as soon as I touched a song, it started playing it. No up next options?

But lost the guest /party mode on iPhone where people could vote on songs, but not delete skip, or change volume.

The show stopper of the previous version was the annoying delay every time you went back to the remote app due to it having to re-find your iTunes library.
Any chance this has disappeared? I guess I will find out soon.

@Trip1ex: It's much faster than it used to be. Turn on "Stay Connected", and it's practically instantaneous.

One quirk I've noticed is that if I play a song or album from a search in the remote app, a random subset of the other songs in the search results get added to the up next list. If I don't want these additional songs to play I need to remove them individually or completely clear the up next list. This may be a feature to some but I find it annoying.

This article seems to imply that you can't rate songs in Remote on the iPhone any more - not true, the rating stars are in the same place as they always were as far as I can tell (play a song and tap the top right icon to switch from album cover display to album track list display and the stars are at the top).

@nekomatic: Hm. When I tested Remote app, there *was* no more album track list display -- it's been converted to an Up Next screen, and thus no stars.
