I like Apple's maps just fine. It almost certainly has to do with where you are using them.

I'm staying with the Apple app. Much better and I like the turn-by-turn better too. Deleted the Google app already.

People can say what they want about Apple but thanks to their maps app manouver now iOS get Google Maps with the same quality level as Android, something that less than three mounths ago seems to be impossible.

Why not keep both? I like having the option... glad Apple was 'big' enough to approve this!

The article doesn't mention whether a Google Map app is coming soon for the iPad? (This is just the iPhone version).

Josu and Jaycer are spot on-this version of Google Maps is miles ahead of the iOS 5 version built by Apple and is in many ways better than Apple's (though in some ways lacking). So Josu is right-we wouldn't have gotten this had Apple not gone its own way, and Jaycer is right: keep both on hand.

Personally, the biggest advantage of this for me is Streetview. I use it all the time and was holding off upgrading to iOS 6 until this very app was released.

Thank you, Apple, for not hindering competition by not blocking Google from selling their competing app through the App Store. Choice is good.
