For about six months time period, Safari 5.1.7 has produced a blackened screen when attempting to access a .pdf page. I am using OS 10.6.8 on a MacPro. I sent a note to Apple about this, and now I get the following diagnostic when attempting to read a .pdf file:
The Adobe Acrobat/Reader selected for viewing PDF documents in browsers cannot be found at its installed location: it may have been moved or deleted.
Please reinstall or repair the application. (16:9)
Niether Firefox nor Google Chrome have a problem finding Adobe Reader in my Applications folder. I would like to continue to use Safari as my preferred web page reader. Any help will be appreciated.
