Angry with Instagram? Try these alternatives

"But before you cancel your Instagram account and sign up for another photo sharing service, be sure to read its legal info—you may find that these other policies are similar to what you left behind."
Then what exactly was the purpose of this article?
Of course there are other photo apps, one can see that by looking into the app store's photo category. The headline promises alternatives to Instagram, but the article just regurgitates snippet-reviews of photo filter apps.
The journalistic thing would have been to actually go through the "legal info", instead of using almost 2000 words to say "Looking for an alternative to Instagram? We don't really know one either."

The difference is that Instagram (once the new terms take effect) may SELL or otherwise use users' images with no remuneration to their creators and without their express permission; you may still own those images but it certainly doesn't seem like it. The usual and best terms quoted in this article allow the hosts to present users' images via the web "...solely for the purpose for which such Content was submitted or made available." That statement is self-limiting and understandable -- users are giving the hosts permission to share content they created but only for the purpose of sharing. Broader permission statements in one or two of the quoted agreements do, indeed, resemble where Instagram is going. We've all gotta read the fine print. (Non-attorney's opinion, here.)

I'm missing Camera Awesome from SmugMug. They have truck loads of filters and the quality is among the very best.

I never trust the so called social media, what do you expect when they get a hold of your data? Of course they are going to make money off your data. Are there really such a thing as free service? Nothing is ever free, you pay one way or the other no matter what. These people give you a so called "free service" in the beginning, trick you into giving them your data, once they get it, they turn around changing their privacy policy, by then it's too late for you to do anything. What are you gonna do about it? Or what can you do about it? Sue them? Wake up people, social media is a big scam!!

Also, I never see the point of sharing my personal life with strangers. I set up my own server, made my own web app, use my private ip to share my photos only with friends and family.
