I have been trying to connect my iPad 2 using Stratospherix's FileBrowser to my MacBook Pro, which is using OS X version 10.8.2 all morning and haven't had any success. I tried to use their website, but it didn't help me. I have several screen shots but I can't display here. Is there difference place I can send them to you so you can see my set-up and tell me what I'm doing wrong? Arnold

A few things to try:

Make sure that you've switched on SMB sharing on your Mac. Double-check that it's really on. Sometimes it doesn't take.

If FileBrowser can't find it over Bonjour, enter the Mac's IP address and try connecting that way.

And, be sure that you're really on the same local network.

This app limits you to being on the same network. Presence will allow you to access from remote locations.

Same problem: unable to connect. SMB is on for sure. I don't know what you mean about finding it over BonJour, nor where to enter the IP address to "connect that way". Huh?

Common scenario indeed - VNC iOS clients have been around for a while, but this one looks good.
