It's interesting that there are always reports of battery issues, I'm not saying it's not true, but I can honestly say I've never had a battery issue in an iPhone. I don't know if it has something to do with my charging routine but even as a moderate-heavy user I always have at least 30% by the time I get home from work. At that point I'm on the iPad so I'm not worried about my phone.

All of these batteries have memories, i.e., remember what a full charge is and what a "zero" charge is. They need to learn both of these limits from the start and occasionally relearn down the line.
This is done by running the battery down as far as possible, then putting it on the charger and leaving it until fully charged PLUS one hour.
