Hi, everyone. I've got this problem on my rather old Macbook, which is a 2.1 from 2007. I updated my OS to 10.6.8 a few months ago.

I watched a DVD on it the other day, a commercial DVD. There was no problem watching it. But when I was done watching and tried to eject it, the disc icon was nowhere to be found. I've tried ejecting it by holding down the eject button when starting up and by going into a Terminal window and typing drutil eject, but all that happens with both of those is that the drive makes the noise of trying to eject the disc but it doesn't eject. And still there is no icon, the disc does not show up when I open Disk Utility and Toast.

Any suggestions for possible other solutions would be most appreciated.

Thank you!

I'm happy to say that after two days, this has resolved itself. So no need for anyone to reply.
