Wait for the tech pundits...this wouldn't have happened if Steve Jobs were still alive, blah blah blah.

Awesome, Just checked my phone, My wifes phone, and the iPad, and all still on DND, and it is 12:00noon on Jan 2 Here!!!
Looks like you just have to manually turn it off, the schedule then seems to apply OK

None of the proposed fixes work for me. However, after fiddling with the system date, I notice that this only affects Jan 2 through Jan 6, NYD was unaffected nor are any other dates outside that given range, when the date is changed the crescent moon disappears.

The "on/off" and the schedule are two different things. If you're only using the schedule you should have DND set to off. It looks like the bug leaves it in. So, just switching to off should take care of it. You will then see "Scheduled X:XX PM" on the DND area.

I'm not sure if the issue returns the next day though.

I would suggest that anyone with this feature stuck on, backup and restore there IOS device. But DON'T RESTORE FROM BACKUP. Sync your data instead. Restoring from your backup could bring corrupted data back on the IOS device causing the same issue. If this doesn't work then Apple needs to respond with an IOS update fix for the issue.
But this is what any Apple Store Genius would recommend if you went there for service. So do it yourself at home and save yourself the trip and the time. It's definitely a software issue so don't expect Apple to replace your device for this because they won't.

I've seen reports that this bug doesn't extend past the first week of the year, so I think a restore—and especially a restore without restoring your data/settings from backup—is a bit premature at this point. For those with a lot of apps/data, it's a many, many, many-hour-long process.

Like SMurph says... two different things. I'm not sure i see a bug here. My DND is "Off" because I use a schedule, from 10PM to 8AM, to silence calls from other than my Address Book. Since I have "Scheduled" turned "On", at 10PM, the crescent moon appears and DND is active. If I turned the DND APP on now, the crescent moon would appear because it is, in fact, in DND mode. I believe if "SCHEDULED" is on, the app will automatically be turned on at the scheduled time, and run for the scheduled length of time.

The bug is that if you've configured a DND schedule, DND does not turn off at the scheduled time. Apple has acknowledged the bug.

Seems like we are now dealing with a new Apple bug every week lately.
Why can't they make their software work right?

Do Android phones work better than this?

Reminds me of Windows :-(.

A new twist: I turned the failed-to-go-off scheduled DND to turn off (as bbhbbh described above)... but 11pm just rolled around and my scheduled DND did not come *on*. Manual switching on and off for the time being, I think. It's not the end of the world, really...
