new guy here for some please ... How do I upgrade from os ver # 313 to Ver # 4.2 on my IPOD ????

What kind of iPod? I am kind of assuming based upon the "version" numbers that you mention that it is an iPod Touch.

If it is an iPod Touch, which "generation" iPod Touch is it? If it is a 1st Generation iPod Touch, then you cannot go beyond 3.1.3. If it is a second generation or newer, then you should be able to at least go to 4.2.1.

If it is able to be upgraded, then you do it through iTunes on a computer. You connect the iPod Touch to the computer with the sync cable and open iTunes. If there is a newer version of iOS available, then you will be to download and upgrade it through iTunes.

Thank you for the reply . I have tried to the iTunes way but it keeps telling me my has no upgrade .. It is 313 ver so i have read that i can upgrade to 4.2 ver but iTunes says no
