Fusion Drive can now be added to entry-level iMac

For me the tipping point toward the 27" iMac is the ability to add my own RAM. I can live with the bigger screen. On a side note and off topic I wonder why Apple just didn't integrate the DVD drive into the base somehow maybe with a USB hub too. Just wishful thinking I guess.

Apple has made the Fusion Drive so expensive, with so little commensurate benefit, that you are better off getting a large fast external HDD or buying a larger SSD drive with the money.
I see it as just a bullet on a marketing Powerpoint presentation.
Another season and another product line and it will all be forgotten, like much of Apple's "must haves".
