I recently updated to ML and I'm using Calendaar. I'm not happy with the reminder/alert system. I would like to set up a reminder to any number of day/weekss before the event (was able to do up to 3 days in SL) and dismiss the alert to snooze a day later or on the day of event or several hours before the event. I'm frustrated with the way calendar in ML does, or rather, does not do. Is there a calendar app out there that is more like iCal in SL???

I'm looking at the Calendar app right now using ML and I'm able set an event to remind me almost any number of days in advance (didn't test how many days, but did try 60) with no problem. You can also set any number of additional reminders for the same event. I've never tried to see how many alerts you can set, but I think it would be as many as you want. Wouldn't this work for you?

By the way. You could also set alerts in SL the same way not just for 3 days.

Didn't look this tutorial over but maybe you can get some tips from it.

The "problem" is that the reminder has to be done for each day if I want to "snooze" for a day. The snooze feature does not give me any choices. Also at the default alarm I have to set up the kind of alert, msg only or with sound, etc. The default number of days, type of alarm, etc. cannot be done in the prefs as with iCal. I would like to find out if there is a way to modify the prefs file to change the snooze behavior.

Thanks for your reply. I'll still look for another more flexible calendar program until (???) apple decides to give users more choices. Programmers need to listen to users and not do whatever they think is ok!

I browsed through the MacApp store and found BusyCal. Checked about it and had good reviews. Downloaded the trial version - 30 days. Love it! All that iCal was before plus a lot more. Can make text larger as well, something important to me. It is on sale until early Feb.

BusyCal is what iCal should be...IMHO. Been using it for years.
