I wish there was something like this for Chrome as that is my primary browser.

You didn't really read the article, right? Otherwise you'd known that VimARI is the SafARI version of the originally for Chrome developed plugin. For Chrome it's called Vimium. Just read the article before you comment ... ;-)

I guess I don't get the value. We're talking about web surfing, right? When I am surfing, I'm not actively using a keyboard?
I point and click, another page displays, I find the next point of interest and I point and click, repeat...
I love keyboard shortcuts when I am typing, but web surfing??? Really???

Different strokes for different folks, right? I seriously keep my hands on the keyboard as much as possible, and I've had numerous requests from readers for something that does just this. If it's not your cup of tea, it's one fewer Safari extension to install

Is there a way to search for extensions in the Get Extensions path of Safari's preferences? I was wanting to download Vimari but can't begin to guess which category it would be in?

I don't know of any way to search for it there, but you can download Vimari from http://guyht.github.com/vimari/
