"But look long enough and you can find a few items of interest on the acres of exhibit space that may appeal to Mac users."

LMAO Yeah - it was called "The iLounge Pavilion at CES". Over 500+ exhibitors, two times larger than Macworld Expo), three times the floor space of Expo and ten times the attendance. Kinda funny (and just as sad) that Macworld can't even bring themselves to spit out the name of the pavilion where they found all of these "hard to find" items of interest to Mac users.

Thank God you were on hand to set us all straight.

Well, you obviously can't bring yourself to do it so someone has to hold up journalism and accuracy. Shame the Mac Media can't be counted on to do it.

Seriously - is there any excuse you can offer as to why Macworld can't report on the news of the iLounge Pavilion? Are you guys really THAT averse to iLounge that you have to obfuscate their role in your own reporting?

I'll be the first to admit, I think iLounge is a joke but apparently I'm also the only one willing to give them credit where credit is due.

Of course if you'd taken the time to actually listen to the first few minutes of the podcast, Shawn, you would have heard quite a bit about the iLounge Pavilion. Though not spit, it got its due. But then jerking the knee is easier, right?

I wasn't referring to the podcast nor was I quoting it. I was referring to the article as it was written but, nice try on the deflection.

Well, we do mention the iLounge Pavilion at the 1:47 mark in the podcast. That would require listening to the thing, though, which I recognize is asking a lot of you, since that's nearly two minutes where you'd have to listen to something other than the sound of your own voice.

Ah well then, I can see how this applies:

"Seriously - is there any excuse you can offer as to why Macworld can't report on the news of the iLounge Pavilion? Are you guys really THAT averse to iLounge that you have to obfuscate their role in your own reporting?"

No Shawn, this is another one of those cases where you'd be best served with "Oops, my bad."

Meanwhile, back on topic...

Re: "(Actually, given the preponderance of 4K TVs crowding the showfloor at the Las Vegas Convention Center and the lack of stellar smartphone news, it’s becoming less of a show for PC and mobile users, too.)"

Unless you're Qualcomm and you use the CES keynote to hype your wares in the cringeworthy-est manner possible. "Generation M." Wow.

Without getting into the rest of this, what I'll say about the iLounge pavilion at CES is that I think it's becoming less of a thing than it was when it started. Not that it's not big -- it's really big -- but that as a show-goer it just seems like part of CES. There are iLounge areas in various halls, I believe -- it's not just one cohesive area -- and there are so many accessories being shown throughout all the halls that it all blends together.

It's interesting that the branding is there, but honestly it's all just CES now, in a way it wasn't a few years back. If it were all in a separate hall, and cohesive, I'd feel differently, but other than the fact that the word "iLounge" appears on some signs, it's really not a major part of the show. It's just more stuff at CES.
