I have the DS1 and I really do not feel it's over priced.

I just wish the damn thing would work. You ask for support on video and they keep giving you the same answer... please put your display in xxxx yyyy format and it will work. Well actually video dies about every 4 times you sleep the computer.

The USB3 does not work at all until OSX 10.8.3 is released so I am pretty surprised that the review says nice stuff about that.

The real problem is the SLEEP problems, the damn thing just does not come out of sleep successfully. As an engineer I have seen on occasions that it turns off VBUS which is the power used to supply the juice for USB powered devices. This means that OSX has to reinitialize the damn things which means all kinds of problems.

I think if it worked as advertised and the support was there this would be a worthy component.

How about this...not only is it overpriced and under featured, it doesn't work with all MacBook Air!

My DS1 will not route audio into my monitor. When I spoke with tech support, they eventually discovered that this docking station will not send audio out via HDMI if the laptop has an integrated GPU card, as my MacBook Air does. It requires a discreet GPU card. If the Matrox design team missed that, it's little surprise that the MacWorld reviewer did as well.

Don't buy it. And definitely don't buy it from MacMall, who refused to accept return even though this product does not work as advertised.
