When I go online to download my monthly Chase credit card statement I get an html file saved to my desktop that has no content when I try to open it. But when I use Firefox 18.0.1 it lets me download the file in pdf format, which is what I want. How do I get Safari to handle these files the same way that Firefox does?

Is the PDF version of the credit card statement opened in the Safari when you try this? If so, move the cursor down toward the bottom of the window. As you do, a "toolbar" should appear (either the default Apple "toolbar" or maybe Acrobat's plug-in toolbar if you have Acrobat installed). One of the items on the "toolbar" should be a "disk" icon that will allow you to save the PDF file.

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually, this did work on my wife's machine (iMac running Snow Leopard), but my Mac Book Pro doesn't respond that way. It is running Lion—I wonder if that's the problem???
