Hmmn, let's see... uninstall Office 2011 that I no longer have to pay for ever again and then reinstall THE SAME SOFTWARE thru an Office 365 account so they can charge me $100 per year for the same apps.
Hhhmn... thank you, but no.

I doesn't uninstall anything. They exist side by side. Still. it makes no sense at all if you have 2011, unless you want the cloud stuff. It's a viable upgrade path if you have a lot of Wintel machines though.
I'm more of a "Woz" guy...

I'm currently a Office 365 subscriber. I have already downloaded one copy of the Office suite for my PC at my office. Back home I have an Macbook Air with a copy of Office for Mac 2011. Per a recent blog post I read today, I should uninstall the current copy and download it through my Office 365 account. I just checked at my home account page and found that the Office download button is disabled. Any ideas?

Really? OO hoses most office documents I open that have anything more than plain text. Pages and Numbers are better, but for working with client files and interoperability in general, it's either a VM or Office Mac.

Not sure what version you have tried and when, but current OO and LibreOffice cope quite well even with complex MS Office graphics except some strangely shaped graphics from Office document templates. Just tried a few heavy formatted Word and PowerPoint documents in LibreOffice, everything seems to be just fine.

I use an Imac with MSOffice 2011

On Tuesday I received a pop up screen promoting 365 and inviting me to try it. I cant get rid of the invitation from my screen. It is most annoying!! How can I remove it????
