"The iTunes Store originally opened in April 2003, meaning the company is on pace to sell more than 2.5 billion tracks per year during the service’s first year in existence."
Huh?
You mean "first decade in existence", right?

First, 25 billion in 10 years is 2.5 billion per year. Why the author put in "during the service's first year in existence" is puzzling. The sentence was correct up to that point. Had the author said,"since the service's first year in existence" it would have made more sense. Bad editor, no soup for you!

"Bad editor, no soup for you!"--LOL. I too found that statement rather odd. What I take it mean is that Apple is on pace to sell more than they did their first year. It certainly needs to be worded better.
