I don't understand this tip and I'm using an iPhone 5. When I'm taking a video, the "shutter" button is the on and off button. Clicking it to start the video and clicking it to stop the video. There isn't another button on the screen.

You want to tap the camera button below the shutter button. We'll update the article text accordingly.

Weird. On my ipad, I can get a swipeable tour of the route even if I use "current location," but on my iphone, I can only do it if I enter a specific address as the starting point.

It depends how you're holding it. To say it's below the shutter button isn't exactly correct.
No matter how you hold it, it will replace the slider for Camera/Video while you're shooting video.
Portrait: it'll be to the right of the shutter button
Landscape volume buttons up: it'll be below the shutter button
Landscape volume buttons down: it'll be above the shutter button
And what's wrong with this site? I have to keep refreshing Safari to get my comments to post!

What am I missing?
Otherwise, very helpful, although I have to say that, in general, I can never remember hints set out in this type of article when they would be useful, unless they can be set up in advance (as are many you mention).

I don't use that account much, but that trick now gives me a folder where I can store messages I want to save from my _other_ accounts!
I've long wanted Apple to add a "New Folder" option to the File button's actions in Mail. Until they do, this gives me a viable workaround.

If I've put a price on it last time, I can see if the new price is poor, good or great to decide how many I might get now, which might range from the minimum (maybe none) to 2 month supply or the maximum I'll use before expiration respectively.
On my iPhone 4s, I sometimes just get the top of the Completed list when I hit search. It, almost always, will snap to the item if you scroll up quickly. It really is quick to do the shopping list this way while checking out the flyers. Anything not found I'll often add with dictation.

Just click on one of the stock responses, you can then start typing and it overwrites the existing text. Very handy!
