Irony. More information here than in an entire issue of Macworld magazine.
As someone who has been a mac addict for three decades, i must confess my sorrow that the apple brand is a product of diminishing quality.
Siri: this is a joke. i have said simple words like "dog pound" and been directed to the FBI. Great concept, poor execution, welcome to Apple.
Many people out there with your older imac 27" wondering why it keeps crashing—it has a bad hardrive and there is a very discreet, quiet recall. Soon, it will die and you can have the pleasurable experience of putting all your information back into a new harddrive. Yes, give Time Machine a holler, and see how that works out for you.
And let's not even mention the newest operating system that about a quarter of all mac users are using, but macworld magazine insists that every story in their issue is a celebration of a completely stupid, irrelevant upgrade, or degrade as i like to call it. Yes, someday, probably soon, Apple will find a facistic way to force me into using this miserable, pitiful operating system.
Apple should concentrate on quality—make better products, not delude us into thinking we need useless upgrades.
But like Siri, Apple is not listening.

As for ringtones. It's better to create in GarageBand and export to ringtone. 45 seconds.... not 17.

I finally figured out how to make ringtones. Sadly, the article here doesn't help very much. I found a fairly good video on YouTube. I will add, you have to select a Smart instrument to get the visualizer, and the song will be cut off to around 17 seconds. There seems to be no way to make it longer.
Make your ringtones in GarageBand and export as ringtone. 45 seconds not 17!!
