Passcode- jailbreak confusion

I have a ton of stuff on my iPad that I don't want the world to see so I use a passcode. I'm now seeing chatter on blogs that the recent iOS 6 jailbreak renders the security of passcode meaningless- all the bad guy has to do after finding/stealing my iPad is run the jailbreak software and he has access to everything. Is this true?

Yes. It is completely secure as long as you don't hand over your iPad to these BAD GUYS
