It's been some time since I posted or came here - been occupied - but I had to do a Google search to find how to get back in. What happened to the Forums button on the main page?? Please bring it back. Thanks.

This question has been raised several times (by myself and others) in the "Comments on Redesign" thread. Despite the people in charge of the site having been back to that thread many times since it was first brought up, and their having answered other questions, it has yet to be addressed or even acknowledged. It's as if they want people to ignore the forums but haven't the decency to own up to it.
Perhaps, now that you have started a thread that is specifically on that topic, one of them finally will.
(To the Macworld people: If you want to make the forums hard to find so people won't use them, fine. It's your site. You can do whatever you want with it. There are other Mac discussion forums on the Web that we can use if you discourage us from using these, or discourage enough people that the discussions lose much of their value. If you want an example of what I mean, look at the frequency of posts in a forum such as Business Mac before the redesign versus after it. All I ask is that you have the common courtesy to be open as to your reasons for making the forums nearly invisible. Is that unreasonable?)

This ties in also with the missingnforum thread link that used to be under every article. The forum is a lot more reliable to comment, post questions and reply ... but the powers that be just want to stick with the "new coke".

The conspiracy theorist in me (he pokes his head out from time to time) thinks it is their tacit attempt to kill the forums. And no response from the "powers that be" gives that suspicion some credence.
