Is another example of something that requires 10 clicks to get to the info and it clutters the discussion forum with a thread per image.

Your site in this regard is not as bad as a few other ones, where you constantly have to scroll up and down after each click to get the content into the viewport again, but, please just do away with these slideshows and line up the photos & articles vertically one below the other.
