I am looking for a new mouse. I have seriously considering Microsoft's Comfort Mouse 4500. However, as I go to their website to look at the software for it, they say that it is only compatible with Mac OS 10.7. I tried to call their technical support, but they just told me to call Apple. I also tried looking at some of their other mice and the drives for them also only go up to Mountain Lion. So, is anyone else using one of these mice with Mountain Lion? Does anyone have another suggestion for a 5-button mouse for less $25?

Barring something really strange, Microsoft's Comfort Mouse 4500 will work with basic functions (i.e. main and secondary button as well as scroll wheel). Just about any mouse will work in such manner.

If you want the additional buttons to work, then you will need specialized drivers. And I cannot say if Microsoft's drivers will work with Mountain Lion.

What I can suggest is a third party driver called SteerMouse: http://plentycom.jp/...ouse/index.html

You can use to with many different mice to map the other buttons. I use it with a Logitech G5 mouse. The webpage says it supports Mountain Lion...I am still currently using Lion on that computer with that mouse.
[soapbox]Back up = good...No back up = bad[/soapbox]
