...would be popular in today's world. I have watches, but only because I'm old enough to remember when cell phones were something that the rich had in their cars. You tell time with your phone.

That's another matter entirely...
Someone once asked the Rolex CEO how the watch business was, to which he replied "I don't know, I'm not in the watch business.".
I'm more of a "Woz" guy...

This Louis Bedogan is an Apple bashed per se and like most of Forbes's contributors the spin is always negative.
It's a good thing that Apple iDevices users have a mind of their own and know what quality is.

Not to mention the fact that Apple is a master at giving us things we don't even know we want....which kind of obliviates the need for the question in the first place.

I do not understand why Forbes, a name that was for decades a highly regarded source of business news, now allows its name to be associated with this type of pseudo-journalsim. That is the real story here -- the degradation of a former American institution.

Hell, I wouldn't be excited by the mere idea of A Notional Apple Watch.
I might or might not be excited by *a specific actual Apple Watch*.
I am, like the Macalope, not really sanguine about the idea of an "iWatch". Apple *could* innovate something so awesome it'd be compelling.
Me, though, I think this has "Pippin" written all over it if it ever happened, and probably isn't more than a rumor.
