Hello to you all...
From the moment I start up my iMac, 597,3 MB of my 4GB of RAM are occupied by a root process named "cfbackd"
This RAM hogging makes my mac slow and unresponsive. Especially when i'm using Safari i run out of RAM in only a few minutes.
I tried to kill that process in "Activity Monitor" but it automatically starts up again by itself.
Inspecting "cfback" in ActMon tells me that the "cfbackd (329)" Process Group runs under the Parent Process: "launchd (1)" which Parent Process is: "kernel task (1)" which Parent Process is: "kernel task (0)
It seems to me that somewhere in the background some unknown residue of some long deleted program is the culprit.
Can somebody help me to get this issue solved...?
If needed i can send you a "sample of cfbackd" produced by Activity Monitor.
Thanks in advance...
2008 iMac 8.1, 2.66GHz, OSX 10.6.8, RAM 4GB
