My Mac Pro has two memory boards in it. Each board has 4 DIMM slots on it. Each slot has a corresponding LED on the board. As soon as I turn the power on, the LEDs light up for a second, then go out.
Is this normal, or is it telling me I've got bad memory? Or do they come on to tell me that I have bad memory?

That's fine. It's when they stay lit that you've got a problem.
