Disappearing photos in Aperture 3

Hi all,

I'm running Aperture 3.4 and I have this problem where some of my photos are only visible when they're in the Trash. When they're in my Library, the projects show up as blank, with the photo count as 0. If I drag the photos from Trash into another project, they still don't show up and the photo count doesn't increase either. I can't add metadata to them either. There are no filters and I've run all of the First Aid options, but no luck. Does anyone know what I can do about it?
