Thanks for the tip. Is this the one you use?

In my work when traveling, running out of battery life is devastating, and carrying spares (like I did with my Samsung phones) was clumsy, at best. This thing really works. Although I didn't have the option to choose between Mophie models at the store, I really like the Helium, and it recharges the iPhone to around 95-98%. No problems with it so far, and I agree that you do feel the heat a bit when it's charging.
Oh, and I don't regret the move from Android to the iPhone, either!

I am quite certain that you tried all of these cases, but you probably have not used them over a period of time. The Mophie is much overrated. I went through two of them and just gave up. The design problem is miniadapter slot; it not solid and it breaks free easily. Mind you, I am an old goat and extremely careful with my equipment. Once the connector has broken free, then it cannot be fixed. Also, and I'm not cheap, but the Mophie case, like many of the others, is overpriced.
Right now, I am sold on the maxboost case for a couple of reasons. First, there's a tray configuration that locks into place to make the connection. And, Lex, although it locks, it can be easily removed. Second, the purchase price includes two trays of consisting of a complimentary color scheme. Third, pertains to the cost of under $70.00. Fourth, there is a toggle switch and light array permitting the user to charge either the case or the iPhone and knowing the approximate level of the charge. Finally, it has proven its durability and I'm using the same one that I initially bought.

I did too! My Girlfriend and I went through a total of 5 within 6 months!
Charging jack breaks easy, and the battery pack stops charging the phone going from charge to not off and on after about two months.
I am DONE with MOPHIE.
I totally understand the high marks. The design is amazing and the look and feel is awesome, but in usability and durability, they just plain SUCK.
$350 down the drain for all 5.

@lexfri have you actually owned the mophie juice pack air or plus for the 5? I went thru 3 of each for the past several months and gave up on them. They DO NOT work for the 5. When switched on to charge the iPhones battery, it works for about 2 minutes then cycles off and on. The case gets very hot and the phone never gets charged up. It keeps vibrating as power is sent and disconnected. I contacted Mophie and kept getting replacements and they all did the same thing. Thought it was my phone, had that replaced, and the issue remained. Tried the case in a friends phone and it did the same thing. I got so tired of it so I tried other cases, so far the best being the Duracell pack with wireless charging. I haven't had one issue charging it, though I do miss the more protective casing from mophie. Me too. My Girlfriend and I went through 5 of them in 6 months. I am DONE with Mophie. They look and feel awesome, but durability and usability is unacceptable!
