What, nobody is going to point out the correct usage of begging the question? The readership is asleep!

Its ironic, but for all intensive purposes, I've given up trying to educate the internet masses on proper grammar, meanings of certain clichés and obscure word usage. It just aggravates me :)

Wardoggie: what you mean is "to all intents and purposes".

Despite having "long been condemned by usage commentators as incorrect or sloppy" some authorities consider the use of "begs the question" as a way of saying "raises the question" or "evades the question" to be no longer mistaken because it has attained such wide usage...

Also "aggravates" means "makes worse." I believe he means "annoys."

Ass right, Wikipedia. Don't nobody need to be worrying cause it ain't be no standard, literary form of English! We don't need no stinking standards. Anything can mean anything else. Leave the interpretation of what you write as a problem for the reader. "Raise the question" or "beg the question." WTF does it matter? It's like in-group jargon. The reader that it's meant for will figure out which one you mean. Don't sweat the small [censored].
