I have been stuck with this super annoying bug in iTunes 11 and still in 11.1 I see, where I can search for an artist and get over 1000 results?!
Type Eric Clapton for instance, then the results say:
Eric Clapton 22 songs
Eric Clapton/Steve Winwood 1191 Songs
Andrea Bocelli 110 songs
Andrea Marcelli 1191 songs
U2 51 songs
U2 1191 songs
Beatles 1191 songs
The Beatles 80 songs
The Beatles 1191 songs
Mark Baldwin 1191 songs
The other thing this manifests as is typing a partial name as Ro
Aaron Rosand 1191 songs
Aaron Rosand/... 1191 songs
Anna Tomawa/... 1191 songs
It doesn't really make any sense!
This is in a freshly rebuilt iTunes music library that was started with the release of iTunes 11.
Where in the world does this 1191 number come from?
And there's no way that the Beatles, Eric Clapton, U2 or pick any other artist has over a 1000 songs.
I suspect it adds up the correct n songs which are truly recorded by that artist or group, and then somehow throws in some number of tracks from compilation album(s) that said artist has a track on. But I doubt all these cases would have the same number of singles on these compilations. Maybe it is just something random.
Has anybody else had some odd large number of search results in iTunes 11?
