I just checked Word, it worked fine. FYI - the buttons don't change color... but you'll see a little 'halo' around the active button. It's really faint, but it's there. Also, to select the button that has the focus, you need to click the space bar, not the return button.

panther is 'letting' itunes stutter the song under heavy load! this has never happened to me before, well maybe once or twice under really heavy load times. now i can get itunes to skip a song just by launching six apps at once (photoshop, indesign, word ect...). no big deal though. i kind of like having my resources prioritized to something else. i think it's a good thing. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
i really like the look of panther. i didn't realize how much i disliked pin strips.

So far so good, and even a tad snapy'er /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Ran repair permissions, booted from Jag's CD (DFA) ran Disk Warrior, and then permissions again. After an Archive & Install ran Repair Permissions and so far this cat has performed just sweet. With an older machine I think I would have done a Clean Install, but this worked great. Glad to see there are not tons of major problems with the new upgrade.

I have Panther on my PB (15" SD). Archive and install with no problems. Had to copy a few fonts over from "previous system" and a few other customizations but otherwise great. The only thing I miss from Jaguar is the semi transplarent menu bars for windows that are in the background and whilst the new finder is nice I find that too much metal everywhere is making the OS look cluttered. The old window bars kept a better balance for me.
I like.
