Is it possible to take the audio from a Real Media music video I have? I doubt it, but you never know

OS X or OS 9? For OS X there is an application called Audio Hijack which captures sound from applications.

Either would do. I'll check out that program, thanks so much!

There is also StreamRipperX. It is a freeware alternative, but is not as good in some ways. StreamRipperX records every sound that comes out of your computer's speakers. So, you need to make sure that you don't have any other applications running that will produce sounds if all that you want is the stream's sound.

Also you could use Wire Tap from abrosiasw.com (also free). Reviewed this month in Macworld. Works great.

Actually, that might be better, Hijacker is a 16 dollar shareware, the audio quality deterioriates after 10 minutes....
I must of missed that review. Thanks!

I've been using WireTap for a few months. It's great: free, small, simple, and effective. But as the post above says, it will record every sound coming out of your computer, like Mail.app notifications, error beeps, etc.

FWIW, Audio Hijack is one of the sharewares that's well worth the money if you need the fuctionality.
Since it targets specific apps, you can trap Real Audio and not worry about system noise of even a QT stream playing. I can't speak highly enough about this application.
