I wanna run Adobe CS that rquires OS X
plus Flash that works well on the current OS 9.2.2
So .... I think more ram would be good (currently 256)
Macworld says I can install 2x512
Apple specs says no......hmmmm
And .... is there a problem with running OS X?
Any help or experience would be appreciated /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

CS runs great on X
Flash runs great on X
But running these on OS X with only 256mb ram will be dog slow /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Apple specs were for published before bigger ram chips were readily available.
Mactracker.app says 512mb also........
so go for it, no problemo /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've got a G3/400 with 1Gb of RAM. Bought the two 512 chips from Transintl. Made a big difference, as you'd expect....
And it runs Panther very well...
Best,
Bob

I've got a G3/500 (Pismo) with 1GB RAM too. I've had the 1GB for more than a year. Not a single problem. I bought it at OWC back when it was about 50 bucks for a 512MB module. It's alot more expensive now. One of the modules I got caused panics in OS X and I returned it to OWC for a replacement. They replaced it no problem.
You won't have any problems with OS X. Panther is supposed to run faster than Jag on a Pismo.
Good Luck!
Chris

I should have said that--Panther runs noticeably quicker than Jaguar.
