hey guys. im using itunes in windows XP, I have this intermitent crackling during various songs. Very annoying, and a damn shame if there is no way around this. Anyone any idea? I have the EQ flat other than a slight increase in the lowest bass freq. (30Hz?)

If it is only during certain songs, I would say this is a bad quality rip. Especially if it is a download (not iTunes Music Store, Kazaa etc.).

check this out....it crakels from songs i have imported via a third party wmv to mp3 converter, also crackles from d/l songs, ripped cd's using itunes ripper and using general mp3 from cd importation (is that a word?)...it seems to crackle after 2 mins of the sond, stop.pause the song and press play again and it goes. Im guessing then it is a problem with the itunes player and not the actuall data. When my ipod arrives tomo do u rekon ill get the crakle on that? if the data is fine, i dont see why i would. also, during everysong i get a silent blip every 40 seconds or so...silent blip being a noticiable fraction of a second moments slience. Itunes cant let me down now, not after spending over 2 weeks importing all 4000 odd choooonze /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
