I am a two powerbook person. I have a PB 12" and a PB 15". I am looking for something to use for both. I almost never travel with both at the same time. Since one is a redundant back up for the other, and vice versa. I am looking for a bag with Grad AAA protection for my babies, and still have room the essentials. PDA, files, pad holders, keys, etc. I travel quite a bit and need some advice.
Thank you all in advance for your suggestions.

Cool. Any other suggestions. I have looked at Waterfield before. Is their price worth it? That was the reason I did not choose Waterfield before.

Try Booq Bags.
Not sure what really interests you, but this is one that interests me. A wide variety of styles, too.

I've looked at Waterfield Designs, Timbuk2, Tom Bihn and booq bags. Are there any other suggestions?

Brenthaven, Crumpler, Spire, Trager, Acme, LowePro and others too numerous to mention. The things you want to look for are an adjustable fit, and a stiff pocket to keep the 15" from being subjected to any twisting pressure. A bag with fitted suspension sleeves that could be changed would be good, or a bag with velcro snuggers.

Yes, I use a Booq Bag. Visitors to PowerBook Zone frequently can find a "discount code" for 10% off.
I like Booq because it's got style while keeping a professional look and I could get a very compact case that is just right for a 12" PB plus necessary accessories (power adapter, headphones, CD's, papers, etc.). I got the 12" PB because it was so portable... I wanted a case to keep with that portability.
Booq does have larger cases, too, which enable one to carry books and lots of other stuff.

The answer's subjective, but I think Waterfield is worth every penny. I own several of their products bag, sleevecases, iPod/iSight/gear pouches and they're great. The products are durable, offer great protection, and are really well made. On top of it all, their customer service is outstanding. If you do a search, you'll see that a lot of forum members have nothing but praise for Gary Waterfield.

That is good to hear about waterfield. One question though. How much extra room does your waterfield have for other things, paper, books, etc.

I have both the Cargo Bag and the Racer X. The Cargo holds quite a bit. But surprisingly so does the Racer. But if you need lots of room go for the largest Cargo offered. The largest one also has side support, so it will not collapse like a usual cargo bag. Also, being that you are in Northern CA. Waterfield is located, and the products are made in SF. You would be supporting a local manufacturer.

I love my Brenthaven professional backpack, and it can hold two laptops if necessary. On my way back from SF with my new 12"PB and my old 12" iBook, they fit fine and were safe. I still fit my external HD, CF reader, all my laptop accessories, etc.
