I'm trying to record straight into the iPod from my mixer, using an rca to line input into the iPod's line. Any ideas on how to do this?
Thanks

No, I don't want to record sounds or voices with a mic. I want to go from my phono pre-amp straight into the ipod, like you would do with a mini-disc recorder.

That's why there's a microphone plug on the iTalk. Belkin is also making a recording solution with a mic in plug. There is no way to record with an iPod without on of these solutions. Even while using one of these, the sound quality isn't very high grade.

Hi
There was a hack at some point through the hidden diagnostics menu but, I believe, it was a pre-feature and was limited to 30 seconds or something like that. Maybe try using a search engine to find some articles on it.

is it true about the sound quality being poor using the line in on the italk? do you have personal experience with this or can you point me to some more info? that's highly unfortunate...

I'm making that assertion based upon the specs. 8KHz, 8-bit, mono sound isn't high grade.
