Hey, all. i just updated to iTunes 4.5 from 4.0, and now i can't burn cds. i can listen to music, but error message says LaCie external firewire cdrw burner "failed to respond properly" when trying to burn.
I've been pulling my hair out trying to narrow down the problem.
my goal is to fix the problem or downgrade to previous versions of itunes or quicktime.
i've updated all that "software update" has suggested.
I keep thinking Quicktime is an issue...i updated to 6.5.1. system requirements for itunes 4.5 say i need 6.2 as well? i'm confused.
either way, it's proving difficult to downgrade (all was well with 4.0) - i have iTunes 4.0 and 4.2 downloaded, but having trouble installing. computer thinks i have a better version of both i tunes and quicktime installed, so it won't allow it.
I also read something about deinstaller. i just got it, but don't know what to do wth it!
who knows how many versions of what i got running around!
Anyway, advice would be very helpful. thanks.

4.5 seems to have many issues that hopefully mac will address SOON! Mainly the sound volume issue! (for me anyway)

I doubt you're having a sound "problem". iTunes 4.5 merely changed how the slider works. See this thread.
Everyone I know with iTunes 4.5 is still blasting away at 100% of the volume from 4.2. Perhaps this is like the "pitted windshields in Seattle" phenomenon.
