Greetz...
Running iTunes 4.5. On many of my songs I am unable to edit any of the "Info" after I "Apple + I" them. None of the files are locked on the hard drive either. Any ideas?

Use Finder's Get Info on one of the files and make sure Premissions allows Read&Write.
Try "Convert ID tags" from Advanced menu on one of the files and see if that helps.

Yeah, I tried that. All the permissions are read/write but when I try to convert the ID3 tags I get a message saying "Cannot convert the tag. May be write-protected or the wrong type."
Any other ideas?

How'd you get these files on the Mac? P2P sharing or the original CD imported? If the latter, then go to Disk Utility in Utilities folder and Repair Permissions. Select the HDD icon on the left that has oS X currently booted (if there's more than one HDD/partition with OS X on it attached to the Mac).
If that fails to yield the desired result, then get hold of Sound Studio from www.macupdate.com and use it to make an AIFF file by it's Import with Quicktime. Save this file (50 Mb or so for the average song) and add it to your iTunes playlist. Go to Advanced in the menubar in iTunes, and with this file highlighted, select the option to Convert. It'll be converted as to the type your Preferneces is set to.
Now, you'll be able to delete the original and change the Info of this new one.
If the file giving you grief is 128, then best opt for 192 minimum when redoing it, as it'll have deteriorated a bit after the conversion to AIFF and back to MP3/AAC. 128 throws away too much info to make it sound reasonable 2nd time round.
