Destineer subsidiary MacSoft on Thursday announced that its Mac conversion of Railroad Tycoon 3 for Mac OS X will be released on September 13, 2004. The company has not previously noted plans to publish this port, so news that Railroad Tycoon 3 will be released for the Mac so soon may surprise many Mac gamers. Also included with the software is the Coast to Coast Expansion Pack, an add-on that was available separately for PC gamers. more

I have a little boy who is almost 3 years old, and he absolutely loves trains. I had been looking for Railroad Tycoon II, but I had only been able to find it for PC. I bought it, and it runs okay under Virtual PC.
I was happy to see this title coming to Mac. Even if MacSoft didn't give us much lead time, I'll be gladly picking up a copy. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

This is good news. Railroad Tycoon II is my favorite game ever. I had no idea there was a Railroad Tycoon III for any platform.
Fabulous.

RR Tycoon II did come out for Mac a few years back. Runs fine on my 450 MHz G4 Cube. One of my favorite games.

FYI,
Railroad Tycoon II runs fine on my dual G5 Tower. Actually, it runs faster on this machine under Classic than it does on my G4 Cube booted into OS9.
