change folder color?

how do you change the color fo a folder on the desk top?

In OSX you can no longer label folders to change their colors (if this is what you meant) but you can change the folder icon to one that is colored.

If you want, check out blank>X icons and do a search for folders. Also, there is an app you can get from Versiontracker called candybar that will replace all your icons system wide in one easy step.

Once you have an icon - say of a colored folder - you can make it the icon for a folder you want to color. Select the icon first and go to file -> show info (cmd-i). Then go to edit -> copy (cmd-c). Do the same thing for the icon you want to change, but use edit -> paste (cmd-v) instead and your icon will change.

Candybar does this system wide, but for individual things this is te way to go.

OR.....you can get Labels X from Unsanity which brings OS 9 labels to OS X. try it out:
