Zonic has released IconLab, a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop that adds support for Mac OS X's native icon format. IconLab allows users to export icon graphics and import them as well -- it correctly pre-multiplies the RGB channels to make sure the icon is visualized correctly; when exporting, IconLab uses the alpha channel of the image to generate a mask for the icon. Images are also resized automatically, allowing you to work at a higher resolution than the final icon file. IconLab requires Mac OS X v10.2 or later and Adobe Photoshop 7.0 or later; it costs US$24.95, though a 7-day free trial version is available for download. more
