Hi, first time Mac-user...
just got my iBook and lovin' it so far
basic question regarding iPhoto and its filing system...
I imported several directories of photos from my old computer onto my mac HD; I then imported them into the iPhoto 5 library
My question is, does iPhoto just make a copy of all these pictures and store them in its Library directory (therefor using twice the HD space) ? Or do they somehow correspond back to the original directory of the picture?
IE:) Directory called "Vacation Photos" on Mac HD, Import to iPhoto Library... does iPhoto create duplicates of the pictures from "Vacation Photos" directory? that would mean I now have two copies of every picture on my computer...
just curious, thanks in advance!

Yes, iPhoto copies the file into it's unique folder system ( http://docs.info.app...ml?artnum=61262 ). So once they are safely in your iPhoto library you can delete the original source off your HD. Just make sure they imported properly, etc.
