Help! Though my iPod is in every other way working correctly, all my playlists have disappeared!
In fact, the iPod seems to believe there is no such thing as a playlist, as the Playlists option has disappeared off my main menu and off the Browse menu.
I have tried re-syncing the iPod (confirming that I have playlists on iTunes that are supposed to upload to the iPod); I have tried soft-resetting. My iTunes software is current. I am using a PC with a firewire card, so I don't even think I can hard-reset.
Anyone ever seen such a thing?

Look in the iPod preferences in iTunes and make sure it's not set to update manually.

Do you use Musicmatch Jukebox to synchronize your iPod in Windows? If there are no playlists or songs after an update, this can happen if you have enabled the "Selected playlists synchronization," option, but did not select a playlist(s).
