Really, that's my whole question. MWNY is a little over a month away, but there are some really great bargains in the educational store right now. However, mine is not a do or die situation--more deals will be coming in August through our institution. Is the possibility of DDR RAM worth delaying this major purchase?

Yes DDR ram is well worth waiting for especially if it comes with a faster system bus. I while ago i went back and looked at benchmarks of when apple switched over to a 133bus/ram and the performance increase was anywhere from 20-66% depending on the app. So doubling the bus and ram speed would probably merit even higher gains.

defenitly wait, not only will it support ddr (possible 333mhz) it will probably support more of it, 2gb. COmbine that with some new stuff, and faster clock speeds and we're lookin at a up to 50% increase...tahts like 60 with jaguar.

Great, thanks for the advice. I'll sit on my hands for just a little bit longer. images/icons/smile.gif
