Does anyone know of software for OS9 that will
allow packet writing to CD-R and CD-RW? I have a G4 with super drive and I'd really like to be able to use CD-RW just like a floppy drive, the way I can on my PC.

Unfortunately, this is one area where Windoze has the advantage over the Mac OS. I have heard rumors that Roxio is working on it, but it is not currently possible to do this on a Mac. It would be nice though.

There is an application called WriteCD-RW that does what you want. I haven't tried it, but another poster did and reports that although it works well enough, it formats the CD-RW in a proprietary manner. They can only be read by other Macs that have the reader installed. No recommendation, but if you want to try it out ...
